Facing physical pain, discrimination and harassments, one woman turns harsh instances into big takeaways that can be applied to anyone's life
ELIZABETH, N.J., June 9, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Out of all events, be it elating or traumatic, come lessons from life's journey. Monica M. Taddeo, in her new book titled "11 Big Lessons I've Learned as a Little Person" (published by Balboa Press), walks readers through her inspiring story of overcoming challenges and finding greatness from within.
Born with achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, this New York author chronicles her life from her youngest years to the present with the life-changing lessons she has learned along the way. As young as 3, Taddeo underwent her first major surgery followed up by in her tween years undergoing extended limb-lengthening surgeries as well as other corrective surgeries into her later life. Over 20 surgeries and many lessons later, she continues the journey to find her true self through her determination, strength and courage.
"I think there is a vulnerability in this book that will allow people to relate to and connect with," Taddeo states. "This book encompasses many themes from empathy to setting boundaries, as well as the courage to have self-love and survive."
An excerpt from the book reads:
Truly, your journey will never end. You aren't looking for an end—you are looking for those moments that make you feel alive and that give you that tingly feeling inside and that let you know you are making a difference. You will have mountains to climb and overcome as well, but keep your eyes on your goals. Your mountains will begin to look like molehills, and you will conquer them.
