Guide Program Built Around Patience and Generational Connection, Not Just Wildlife Expertise
Jackson, United States - May 21, 2026 / Teton Expeditions /
JACKSON HOLE, WY - Teton Expeditions is launching a new chapter in Jackson Hole built around a straightforward premise: families should not simply pass through Grand Teton and Yellowstone. They should experience both parks in a way that stays with them long after they leave.
Re-founded by Jeff Tibbitts and Evan Toal, Teton Expeditions draws on more than 50 combined years of guiding, outfitting, and wildlife interpretation across the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. The company operates in a new form today, but its foundation was laid in the 1970s, when David Tibbitts helped define a guiding philosophy rooted in knowledge, patience, humility, and genuine respect for the land.
David Tibbitts was Jeff's father. He was among the first to show both Jeff and Evan what responsible, meaningful guiding looked like in practice. Not a transaction. Not a checklist. A real effort to help people understand and care about a place.
"We know what it looks like when this is done right," said co-founder Evan Toal. "We built this company around that vision."
Teton Expeditions offers half-day and full-day guided wildlife tours of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, with pickup and drop-off available throughout the Jackson Hole area. Tours are structured for small groups, families, multi-generational travel parties, and guests seeking a more personal way to explore the parks.
The company's message, "See It Together," reflects the kind of experience Teton Expeditions is designed to deliver. A child spotting a moose for the first time. Grandparents watching a bison herd move across an open valley. Parents slowing down long enough to understand what surrounds them. The objective is not only to put guests near wildlife. It is to create a shared memory that resonates across an entire family.
"The parks are for everyone," said co-founder Jeff Tibbitts. "But not everyone experiences them the same way. We want families, older travelers, and first-time visitors to feel comfortable, curious, and included from the moment they step into the vehicle."
That guest-centered approach informs every aspect of how tours are structured. Pacing is intentional. Questions are welcomed. Guides are chosen not only for their depth of knowledge but for their character, patience, and ability to engage guests of different ages and backgrounds. Many bring experience in natural history, science education, outdoor leadership, and wildlife interpretation.
For families, that translates into a natural world made accessible at every age. For older travelers, it means no rushed schedules, no overcrowded vehicles, and no sense that a slower pace or an honest question is unwelcome. Each tour is built around connection: to the landscape, to the wildlife, to the guide, and to one another.
The Greater Yellowstone ecosystem ranks among the most significant wild landscapes in North America. Grizzly bears, wolves, bison, elk, moose, pronghorn, eagles, and a wide range of other species inhabit a region shaped by geology, conservation, seasonal migration, and generations of stewardship. Teton Expeditions works to help guests understand that broader story.
"Every family that spends a day in the parks with one of our guides is a potential steward," Tibbitts said. "Every kid who sees a moose cross a river for the first time is a future advocate. That is what this is really about."
Teton Expeditions is currently booking tours for the 2026 season. Half-day and full-day wildlife tours are available for both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Private tours and group rates are offered for families, multi-generational travel parties, and special occasions.
